Flora & Fauna

Our little bit of paradise is home to many birds and Mammals that live in the hedgerows, woods, fields and the stables themselves!

As I am a keen photogrpaher ( you would never have guessed!) my camera is always by my side, so as well as capturing those special moments with our munchkin pony boys, I have also been fortunate enough to capture the flora & fauna that borders us.

Given the numerous amounts of photographs I have in my possession, I have limited this gallery to a selection of my favourite shots.

All photos are copyright, and not for distribution or sharing but I hope you get the same pleasure viewing them as I have done.

Grey Squirrel

1 of our 2 Resident Greys. Sadly I found her at the bottom of a tree dead in August 2019. She had either been jumping from tree to tree and missed, or she had been swooped on by the buzzard or sparrowhawk but I could find no visible signs of trauma to indicate such. We buried her in the woods where she made her home :-(

Swallows In The Stable

Visitor Migratory Birds In The Stable British swallows spend their winter in South Africa: they travel through western France, across the Pyrenees, down eastern Spain into Morocco, and across the Sahara. Some birds follow the west coast of Africa avoiding the Sahara, and other European swallows travel further east and down the Nile Valley. .
